Following their performance as one of the highlights of Glastonbury, and ahead of appearance at this year’s V festival Blondie are adding another date to their impromptu UK tour. The date added at Birmingham O2 Academy on Saturday 13th September go on sale on Friday 15th August at 9am.
Blondie have sold more than 40 million albums globally and repeatedly reaching the top of the charts over the course of four decades with such hits as “One Way Or Another,” “Heart Of Glass,” “Rapture” and “Maria.” This year already, the band has been celebrating their 40th Anniversary with the NME Godlike Genius Award, the critically acclaimed Glastonbury slot and the release of the new Top 20 album “Ghosts of Download”.
These new dates see Blondie hitting the road following the release of their new two-disc package of music. “Blondie 4(0) Ever” which includes a greatest hits album and a brand new album ‘Ghosts Of Download’. For Blondie it is not merely looking back but continuing to move forward. With a Deluxe Redux: Greatest Hits, the band is saluting its storied past by reprising eleven of its biggest songs in a set of new studio recordings that sound just as impeccable, fresh and fun as the first time we heard them. On “Ghosts Of Download”, the group brings their journey right up to date with 12 incredible brand-new tracks.
