Seven of the world’s best modern Irish Dancers have combined forces to smash boundaries, heralding an awe inspiring new era in Irish Dance.   Dance troupe Prodijig, led by Alan Kenefick, often referred to as the Michael Flatley of his generation, will perform their breath-taking debut show ‘Footstorm’ across Ireland and the UK from April 2013. Tickets for the tour go on sale at 10am on the 2nd November and are available HERE.

Prodijig’s powerful and unique performance style has already captivated the UK & Ireland. The group – who fuse Irish dancing with more modern moves - have wowed audiences and prompted widespread critical praise, five star reviews and standing ovations for their world-class crowd pleasing style, powerful, heart-stopping moves and magnificent energy.

The innovative troupe that are insistent on bringing Irish dance into the 21st Century deservingly won Sky One’s Got To Dance 2012 earlier this year.  Watched by over 2 million viewers, the seven-strong group, won huge praise from the judges, including ex-Pussycat Dolls singer Kimberly Wyatt claiming they were “on another level” and Diversity leader Ashley Banjo, who described the performances as “disgustingly good”.

Their performance on Sky One provided the stepping stone to wider recognition including a personal invitation to go to the US and perform on the Ellen show, but their debut show was already in pre-production and is now ready to be unleashed.

The five girls and two boys - came together to "break boundaries" and "move away from tradition". Each dancer is a leading competitor in their own right, and between the group they have won every Irish dancing competition - including North American, Great British, All Ireland and World championships.

Between them the seven members of Prodijig are amongst the most outstanding and elite Irish dancers of the modern era.  Choreographer and group leader Alan Kenefick holds the Guinness Book world record for tapping speed at 36 taps per second (one faster than Michael Flatley). Alan was the lead dancer in Riverdance for over 5 years performing in every major continent to over one million fans and has won every major Irish dance championship.

All members of Prodijig - Ciara McGillan, Andy O Reilly, Darren Casey, Dane McKiernan, Christina Havlin and Bobby Hodges –are world class and will play leading roles within the new show. Between them they have played the lead in shows including Lord of the Dance, Rhythm of the Dance, Riverdance and Celtic Tiger.

As well as winning every major Irish Dance Championship in the world, they have performed for major dignitaries include Her Majesty The Queen, The President of Ireland and the President of Kazakhstan and worked with celebrities including Mariah Carey and Westlife.

They have also danced on global TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing in the UK and The Today Programme in the US and performed at huge events including the All Ireland Hurling and Football Championships Finals, the opening ceremony of the Ryder Cup and the G8 Summit in the Gleneagles, Scotland.

Choreographer Alan Kenefick said: “We’re so excited to be going on the road. We have worked so hard to create a mind-blowing show. We know to succeed we need to keep evolving and pushing our performance as far as we can and our debut show Footstorm will not disappoint!”

With all original music and original dance this is a love story which causes conflict between two worlds and will tell a tale through a style of Irish dancing never seen before.

From their sensational Got To Dance win, Alan’s contemporary performance style has taken the group from strength to strength, performing across the globe to thousands of people.  And exciting debut show Footstorm looks set to secure its place in the dance world as the new, innovative forerunner of Irish Dance.
