A night in Portuguese at the COOLJAZZ festival scene in Cascais, welcoming for the first time Tiago Bettencourt to celebrate the 20 years of his career. Tiago Bettencourt takes the COOLJAZZ stage to present a unique concert at the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo, which visits the great successes of the artist throughout two decades. On the same night, Nena will also debut on the COOLJAZZ stage, where she will present her first album of originals "ao fundo da rua" (2022). The young artist invites Joana Almeirante for a special participation in her concert. Nihuju Trio presents a repertoire based on American songbook standards and sometimes working on specific albums of their jazz heroes. They will perform on the Cascais Jazz Sessions by Smooth FM.

Tiago Bettencourt stands out for the signature he has on his songs and texts. He was part of "Toranja" where he captured the public's attention with the albums "Esquissos" and "Segundo". His solo career began in 2007 with the release of "O Jardim" (Tiago Bettercourt & Mantha, 2007), which includes songs like "Canção Simples", "O Jogo" and "O Lugar". In the following years, albums followed such as "Em Fuga" (2010), "Acústico" (2012), "Do Principio" (2014), which include themes such as "Morena" and "Maria" and "A Procura" (2018). In 2020, Tiago Bettencourt edits "2019 Rumo Ao Eclipse" an album that talks about movements that took place in 2019. Tiago Bettencourt is a renowned Portuguese artist and brings the celebration of his 20 years of career to the COOLJAZZ stage, in a concert not to be missed. The night of July 27^th will be a celebration led by Tiago Bettencourt, in an intimate evening totally dedicated to Portuguese music.

Nena, singer and composer, owner of a distinctive and unique voice, will take the stage for the first time at COOLJAZZ, on July 27^th, and invites Joana Almeirante for a special participation in her concert. The two young artists are preparing a unique performance for the COOLJAZZ concert. With a new work of originals edited in 2022, "ao fundo da rua", which includes themes such as "do meu ao teu correio", "passo a passo", "segui" and "portas do sol" (triple platinum single). The Portuguese artist will open the stage on July 27^th for a special night sung in Portuguese.

Nihuju Trio will perform on the stage of the Cascais Jazz Sessions by Smooth FM. The trio is made up of the saxophonist and singer Eunice Barbosa, the guitarist Hugo Portugal, and the bassist Juliana Mendonça. Students of Escola de Jazz Luís Villas Boas (Hot Clube de Portugal) and Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, in their jazz degree, the trio presents a repertoire based on American songbook standards and sometimes working on specific albums by their jazz heroes.

COOLJAZZ HAS 3 CONCERTS PER NIGHT

It starts at 8pm with the Cascais Jazz Sessions By Smooth FM, then follows the First Concert on the main stage and ends with the Headliner Concert on the main stage. You can consult the festival schedule, at cooljazz.pt
