Following  his  latest  critically-acclaimed  release  ‘Him.Her’,  English  born, Scottish-raised alternative  singer/songwriter  James  Gillespie  continues  to  emerge as  one  of  the  most interesting  and  versatile  artists  coming  out  of  the  city.  Following  on  from  his  notable debut release  “What  You  Do”  (racing  to  over  15M streams  on  Spotify),  James  comes through           with           his           brand-new           offering           ‘Beyond           Today’.

Evoking  the  kinds of  natural  technical  ability  and  vocal  prowess  that  earned  artists  like James Blake and Hozier instant kudos, James’ own comet-like entrance into the scene last year has seen him headline a sold-out date at London’s Lexington and drop his own version of P!nk’s “Don’t Let Me Get Me” that made it to the ears of the superstar – who promptly asked   him   to   perform   it   with   her   at   her   headline   set   at   V   Festival   last   year.

With over 37M total streams and counting, the remarkable story continues with ‘Beyond Today’ – a deeply confessional, searing account of vulnerability.   Speaking on the track, James states: "Sometimes when life is at its darkest it's hard to know who you are. Who to turn to when you need someone. The darker the times the darker I become. It’s hard to see what's  right  or  wrong when  there  is  no  light  in  sight.  And  it  becomes  impossible  to  see beyond today."

Co-producing all of his own music, James is currently working with Charlie Andrew (Alt-J), Andy Hall Hall (Rag ‘n’ Bone Man) and published by Good Soldier (Biffy Clyro, The 1975, Freya Ridings). The company James is keeping alongside his notable entrance - selling out his  debut  headline  London  show  at  O’Meara  -  will  continue  the  intrigue  around  this unorthodox rising artist.

James Gillespie headlines London’s Oslo, Thu 30 May 2019.
