O2 is inviting rugby fans to Wear the Rose and show their support for the England Rugby Team by hosting the Official England Rugby 2015 Send Off with the RFU on 9th September.

A unique celebration of both England and rugby, Wear the Rose Live will offer fans from across the country a once in a lifetime opportunity to wave off the England team in style and show how the power of support can give the squad a huge boost, ahead of the biggest tournament in English rugby history.

Held in front of 14,500 fans at The O2, the England Rugby squad, coaches and management will be there, with players taking part in live interviews on the night. They will be joined by global pop sensations Take That as they perform an hour-long exclusive set of hits, complete with a full 48-piece orchestra for the first time ever.

Additional special guests include 2014 Britain’s Got Talent Winners Collabro, who topped the album charts last year, and England Rugby’s official anthem singer, million album selling soprano Laura Wright.

England Rugby Captain Chris Robshaw said: “The support that we get from our dedicated fans means so much to the team and they really can be the difference when we are out on the pitch. We are looking forward to the opportunity to personally thank our supporters at the Wear the Rose Live event this September.”

Mark, Howard and Gary from Take That said, “We’re really excited to be returning to The O2 in September for this very special night, bringing together two of our favourite things, music and sport. We’ve met some of the England players preparing for the show and we’re delighted to be supporting Head Coach Stuart Lancaster and the whole England Rugby team in this huge year. We’ve been asked to perform some of our biggest hits to close Wear the Rose Live and look forward to seeing many of you there!”

Nina Bibby, O2 Marketing Director comments, “This year O2 is calling upon the entire country to Wear the Rose and get behind the England Rugby Team, to demonstrate the power of support. Wear the Rose Live has been designed to do just that, offering 14,500 fans a once in a lifetime opportunity to send-off the team with world renowned artists Take That. Through Priority, we’re proud to be giving our customers exclusive early access to Priority Tickets 48 hours before general release to what is set to be one of most exciting events ever held at the O2.”

Sophie Goldschmidt, RFU Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer today said “We know that England rugby supporters are among the best in the world and we are delighted to be offering our fans an opportunity to cheer on the team in the final days before they take to the pitch at Twickenham Stadium. We are proud to partner with O2, working together to create a unique event that places the fans at the very heart of it. Power of support, especially at home, can be the difference and hope that we can mobilise the nation to get behind the team come September.”

To support the event O2 has created a unique TV advert to showcase the power of support, emphasising how important it is to get behind the England team and make them feel like giants in a home nation tournament.

The advert features England fans from across the country joined by Take That, helping to carry the players on to their shoulders, as they make their way to The O2, with a special cameo appearance from England Rugby legend Jonny Wilkinson. The advert previewed on Sunday 19th July at 7.30 on ITV1 and is available to view on O2 Sports YouTube channel here.

To enable thousands of rugby fans from across the country to attend, tickets will be priced from as low as £20.15 through to £85. Those purchasing an £85 ticket will receive the new 2015 England Rugby replica shirt.
