LEAF returns in 2015 with a new venue, new time in the calendar and new event partner London Warehouse Events presenting a two-day cultural celebration of electronic live music performances, parties, installations, masterclasses, screenings and conversations.

Today’s announcement is headed by news that British house music pioneers 808 State will be performing their classic album Ninety in its entirety, marking the 25 year anniversary of a record that helped lay the foundations of the 90s electronic revolution.

The band will be playing as support to Modeselektor at the main LEAF concert on Friday 6th March at Tobacco Dock.

Graham Massey of 808 State says of the band and seminal album:

"808 State was its own invention. Whatever you think you know about us is probably wrong. We made those albums as reports from the underground, and would have considered ourselves lucky if, 25 years later, any of them were worth returning to.

Ninety was a special album to us... recorded for the first time with a budget and very little time to procrastinate. Accessing and buzzing on the possibilities of emerging technology, studio time was like a seance - we could talk to musical ghosts or palm read the future.

I think that ‘Ninety's future facing optimism survives... we are happy that LEAF are giving us the 'Classic Album' slot as a chance to see if it does"

As an addition to the conference – Modeselektor and 808 State’s Graham Massey will also share the stage at LEAF in the daytime when they will discuss their career and influences that have led them up to this point.  Modeslektor have previously cited 808 State as one of their 90’s reference points and this provides the perfect unique platform to explore and ask questions that will never have been asked before.

More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.

LEAF is created and curated by Bestival founder and BBC Radio DJ Rob da Bank, and music pioneer and International Music Summit creator Ben Turner, in partnership with SJM Concerts, the UK’s leading independent concert promoter and event partners LWE, London’s leading warehouse promoters.

About Tobacco Dock

Tobacco Dock was built in the early 19th century as a tobacco storage warehouse complex, now converted into a stunning events space situated in E1 and spread over 2 floors and 16,000m2. This unique venue has a huge variety of spaces from the big and cavernous to the small, dark and intimate which provides the perfect setting as the home of the London Electronic Arts Festival (LEAF).

The Great Gallery is the largest room, used as the main space for music events, it is full of character featuring original oak beams supporting a glass vaulted roof to house the biggest headliners. Next is the basement of the car park, used as room 2 for electronic music events, its dark, tunnel like appearance reminiscent of the famed Berghain in Berlin, makes it perfectly suited for the deeper and more experimental sounds of the underground. In addition to these there are a multitude of different spaces, from vaulted rooms in the basement to gorgeous brick walled, glass rooms on the upper and lower levels. Put this all together and it will be the perfect setting for two days of panels, presentations, showcases and electronic music.
